If you’re taking your dog with you on a road trip, you’ll want to make sure the hotel or B&B you’re staying at allows dogs.
A great and easy way to find pet friendly hotels is through Bring Fido. You can go online or download their app.
What you do
First you’ll want to go to their site or app. You enter the destination you’re going to, the dates you’ll be staying, how many rooms, people, and pets. Then you hit ‘fetch’ aka search, and different hotel and B&B options will pop up.
From there you can click around on the different options, and see which one is best for you and your dog(s). It will list the price, how many dogs are allowed, if large dogs are allowed, and if there’s a pet fee. Then you can book through the site, the hotel will receive your information, and you’ll be good to go!
What you’ll need
Food & treats– You obviously want to bring your pup’s food with them when you’re going on a long road trip. Bring plenty of their favorite treats, so they know they’re doing a great job on the journey. If your dog is taking any kind of medication, don’t forget to pack it!
Leash– Even if your dog is well trained and well behaved off leash, you’ll want to bring a leash. Hotels require you to have your dog on leash at all times when outside of your room.
Poop bags– You should pick up after your dog anywhere, but the hotel will definitely want you to clean up their waste.
Crate– Hotels will ask you to keep your dog in a crate when sleeping, or when you leave the room without them.
Toys– And of course you want to bring a few of their favorite toys, so they feel comfortable.
